Europe's Baseball Culture Magazine

What we stand for
We are Europe's first editorial platform dedicated entirely to baseball culture.
Based in Germany and created for readers across Europe, Innings explores the people, stories and cultural movements that have shaped baseball across generations. We look beyond statistics, game analysis and league coverage to examine how baseball influences fashion, music, identity, design and communities around the world.
When a baseball cap becomes a symbol, when a jersey becomes the code of a city, when a stadium turns identity into concrete, we ask: Why?

Baseball Is More Than a Sport
Baseball is a way of life. Baseball is culture. Baseball is community.
Some sports publications report scores and results. Some culture magazines interpret the forces shaping society. Between them lies a space where sport becomes storytelling, statistics meet emotion and the rituals of baseball reveal something about the world we live in.
That is where Innings begins.
As the first baseball culture magazine in Europe, Innings tells stories that go beyond match reports, league standings and transfer speculation. We explore what baseball really means: its people, places, rituals, symbols and contradictions.
Our stories examine migration and belonging, baseball fashion and streetwear, music and film, stadium architecture and collective memory. We write about failure as an art form, patience as a radical alternative to constant acceleration and the enduring relevance of a game without a clock.
We are less interested in simply reporting what happened than in understanding why it matters. Innings is pitched by culture.

Baseball Stories Beyond the Box Score
The name Innings defines our approach to storytelling and Content Marketing. Every inning in baseball is its own dramatic chapter. Tension builds, momentum shifts and characters reveal themselves. Each inning has a clear beginning, but its ending cannot be determined by time.
Innings brings this narrative structure into the world beyond the ballpark. We do not merely begin stories; we follow them through. Every feature has a clear focus, develops its own rhythm and searches for meaning beyond the obvious.
Reading Innings is not about collecting random articles. You collect innings.
The name also travels across cultures: familiar in German, natural in English and deeply embedded in the global language of baseball. Innings has a clear home in Germany, but its perspective has been international from the beginning.
Because baseball culture has never belonged to just one country.

Baseball, Fashion, Music and Identity
Baseball is visible far beyond the field.
Its caps and jerseys have become global fashion codes. Its language appears in music, film and advertising. Its stadiums shape cities and collective memories. Its teams create identities that can travel across generations and continents.
We explore these connections.
When a baseball cap becomes a global fashion icon, what remains of its original meaning? When a jersey represents a neighbourhood or an entire city, who gets to wear it – and what kind of belonging does it create? When a stadium becomes a monument to collective memory, whose stories are preserved within it?
These are not side stories to the sport. They are part of what baseball is.

How We Write About Baseball Culture
Innings combines the ambition of cultural journalism with the accessibility and emotion of sports storytelling. Our writing is analytical, precise and carefully researched, but never academic for its own sake. We do not lecture from a distance. We explore alongside our readers.
Baseball creates powerful emotions, and we do not hide them. But we are not interested in nostalgia without reflection. We question familiar narratives, deconstruct myths and examine the contradictions that have always been part of the game.
We explain the history behind cultural symbols, connect individual stories to larger social developments and open up new perspectives on baseball in Germany, Europe and around the world.

Who Innings Is For
Innings is for baseball fans who think beyond ERA, OPS and the box score.
It is for people who appreciate the style, rituals and wider lifestyle surrounding the game. For culturally curious readers interested in fashion, music, design, architecture, identity and community. For anyone looking for deeply researched baseball stories and perspectives rarely found in traditional sports media.
You do not need to know every statistic or understand every rule to enter this world. Curiosity is enough. Innings is for anyone who wants to understand why baseball is more than a sport – and what the game can tell us about society, identity and the present moment.

Baseball in Europe, Connected to the World
Baseball connects people across the United States, Japan, Korea, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe and beyond.
Innings follows the culture of Major League Baseball, German Baseball Bundesliga and the Minor Leagues, but our perspective does not end there. We explore international baseball traditions, local clubs and the growing communities shaping baseball across Europe.
We ask what travels between cultures, what changes along the way and what remains unique. What resonates in Europe? What still feels unfamiliar? What can different baseball cultures learn from one another? Our perspective is global, but always grounded in the place from which we tell our stories.

What Guides Us
A baseball game has no game clock. It does not end when time expires, but when the final out is recorded. As a team, we embrace that philosophy.
Innings does not follow the relentless pace of the news cycle or limit itself to the rhythm of a season. We work patiently and thoroughly, creating stories designed to remain relevant beyond the day they are published.

Stories Told in Series
Baseball is built on repetition and variation: games, innings, at-bats and pitches. Familiar situations return, but the outcome is never exactly the same.
Innings is a continuing series of cultural perspectives. Our stories relate to one another and contribute to a larger understanding of baseball culture, while every article remains meaningful on its own.

Magazine, Podcast and Cultural Platform
Innings was created for the digital world – as an online baseball magazine, a podcast and a platform for cultural exchange. Digital publishing allows long-form journalism, photography, audio, film and community to come together. It enables Innings to connect baseball fans and culturally curious audiences across cities, countries and continents.
But the name already carries the possibility of what comes next: live conversations, collaborative projects, exhibitions – and, one day, a printed baseball culture magazine.
Because when journalism thinks big, some stories deserve to live on paper.

Team
The Innings leadership team combines extensive experience in baseball, culture, editorial storytelling, content marketing and US sports – bringing together deep knowledge of the game with a distinctive cultural perspective.
